Brand prompts
Brand prompts are the user queries that explicitly mention a brand name and trigger AI responses about that brand's offering, positioning, or reputation.
Brand prompts are the highest-signal queries in any AI visibility program. Unlike category prompts ("best CRM"), brand prompts include your name — so the question is no longer will the AI mention me but what will it say.
Examples
- "What does [your brand] do?"
- "[Your brand] review"
- "Is [your brand] better than [competitor]?"
- "How much does [your brand] cost?"
- "Pros and cons of [your brand]"
Why brand prompts matter
Buyers in late-stage research run brand prompts. The AI's answer can directly accelerate or block a purchase decision. If the model returns:
- Outdated pricing → lost deals
- Old feature list → unfair comparison loss
- Confused brand description → trust erosion
- Negative sentiment from a viral incident → demand suppression
What to monitor
A complete brand-prompt tracking layer should record, for each engine:
- Accuracy — does the answer describe you correctly?
- Recency — is the information current?
- Sentiment — neutral, positive, or negative framing?
- Comparison framing — when versus a competitor, who comes out ahead?
- Citations — which third-party pages is the AI quoting?
Geosaur runs brand prompts daily across all major engines and alerts you when answers drift.
