Applebot-Extended
Applebot-Extended is Apple's robots.txt control for opting out of Apple Intelligence and Apple's generative AI training, separate from classic Applebot used for Siri and Spotlight.
Applebot-Extended lets publishers keep their content available to Apple's classic services (Siri, Spotlight, Safari suggestions) while opting out of Apple Intelligence training.

Apple bots cheat sheet
- Applebot — Siri, Spotlight, Safari Suggestions index
- Applebot-Extended — Apple Intelligence and generative AI control
These are controlled independently, mirroring the Google-Extended pattern.
Should you allow it?
Apple Intelligence ships on hundreds of millions of devices and is increasingly the default surface for on-device assistant queries. Most publishers allow Applebot-Extended for the same reasons they allow GPTBot and ClaudeBot — visibility in next-generation search experiences.
